I haven’t been here in a while. A long while, it turns out.
We won that Literary Award! On June 1, 2017.
Since then, I’ve had a show at the Lord Hall Gallery at UMaine Orono, with my lovely and talented printmaker neighbor Susan Groce. I’ve been back again to sit on a panel discussion for Framing Maine : Artists Perspective on Place - 200th birthday of Maine Celebration in October of 2019.
I haven’t been making a lot of photographs lately….I’ve become super busy teaching movement, my first love. And growing oysters, because: yum. And it creates a space where my husband and I can work together, so the farm has grown to include kelp and scallops. We love the flavor. We’re called Ice House Oysters, if you are interested. I have yet to make live our website, but it’s coming: www.icehouseoysters.com
On the creative front I am happy to report that Esther Mollo and I are once again collaborating on a project - the shape of which we don’t yet know. We’re taking the first year to develop an alphabet - 13 months; 26 letters. We each take a letter and create a response. By the end of the year, we’ll have a working alphabet, with the hopes to find a residency that will have us to create a body of work. Stay tuned.
I don’t say much, but I’m here and always happy to chat.
Copies of CAUGHT. time. place. fish. are still available - through this website or by visiting Glen at Port Clyde Fresh Catch. When sell out, we’ll be sold out. So don’t miss out.
Peace,
Toni
